Hawthorn's Eulogy
--- Christina Kennedy

Friends, we are gathered here today to remember one of the most
distinguished rabbits to grace the Petbunny community. Hawthorn, CEO
of Hawthorn's Homes and husbun of the elegant and opinionated Belinda,
left us today for the soft green pastures and the sweet warm caresses
of the wind at the Rainbow Bridge. He leaves behind a place in our
minds and hearts that cannot be measured nor filled with the poor
tools we have in hand and in spirit for such a task.
To say Hawthorn was a gentlebun is to sell him short; Hawthorn was an
ambassador for rabbitkind. He avoided the airs and unsavory habits of
so many CEO's of our time. When young spirited females joined the
ranks of his company, Hawthorn stayed right by the side of his
long-time spouse Belinda. He even shunned some of the luxuries of
having others labor to meet his needs, preferring to have his fur
groomed and arranged by his bun-wife in the calmness and simplicity of
his own home to the ministrations and brushing of his human
assistants.
As Frank Sinatra was before him, blue-eyed Hawthorn was a charmer and
a darling young lad, and he stayed that way as he grew older. Sadly,
Hawthorn will not lead us gracefully into the coming years as an
ever-respectable and graceful elder-bun. We are left to remember him
as we knew him- noble, caring, intelligent and loving.
A bright light has left our land for the night sky. We must each try
to make our own lights a little brighter in his memory to keep the
world he knew aglow...
With sincere condolences to Belinda, Charlotte, and the rest of his
near and extended family,
Rosey-Rose Bunn, RIFRAF Chaplain

Hawthorn's Poem
Dere be all sorts of wonders
in dis many coloured land,
from watching hoomins live dere lives,
to playing in the sand.
A hundred sights for us to see,
a hundred more to smell,
and lots of time to run around
and time for binks, as well.
Our lives are full of wonder,
of love and trust, it`s true,
It only takes a hoomin,
could that just be you?
We all live in this small warren,
it`s cosy, it`s our home,
`cos we love to be together,
no bunny on-alone.
